Patriot Responder Technologies is developing a roadside device to confirm “recency of use” for drivers and employees attending to start shifts for sensitive tasks.
My belief is that a cannabis impairment breathalyzer is urgently needed to enforce marijuana-impaired driving. There is a myth that impaired driving enforcement and deterrence are best achieved with criminal code charges, which require proof of level of exact impairment. The current alcohol-impaired driving enforcement is very, very effective with the use of 24-hour driving prohibitions and roadside breath tests. A police officer can levy 8-10 24-hour infractions in a shift, whereas a criminal code impaired driving investigation takes most of a police officer’s shift and gets torn apart by criminal defence lawyers and results in only 15-20% conviction rates. Most detachments with 5-6 officers cannot effectively enforce impaired driving with criminal code charges but can do it via 24-hour prohibitions which require simple confirmation of the presence of alcohol.
Drivers are now afraid to drive alcohol-impaired as 24-hour prohibitions offer huge deterrence. If drivers get more than 2, 24 hour prohibitions, their driver’s licence is suspended by the Motor vehicle branch. This has resulted in drivers drinking and driving much less often but they do not hesitate to ingest cannabis and drive because there is no fear of enforcement.
Patriot Responder is planning to list its shares for trading on the Canadian Securities Exchange and be trading by the Spring - Summer of 2025. To qualify for listing, Patriot Responder needs to have a minimum of 150 shareholders who own a minimum of 5000 shares.
The shares are offered at $.010/share and come with a “Warrant” which gives you the right to buy another share for a period of three years even if the market price goes well beyond $.25. The warrant is your OPTION to buy, and you would only exercise it if the market price is above $.25.
